The Plymouth half took place on Sunday 19th May, starting and finishing on the Hoe. It was a glorious day, more suited for sitting on the beach with ice cream rather than trying to tackle 13.1 miles around the streets of Plymouth. The 0830 start meant there was little time to worry about the weather and before we knew it we were off.
The route took you through Plymouth centre before heading out to the East (uphill) to Saltram Park. What goes up must go down and from about mile 9 it was downhill back to Plymouth centre, before running along the cobbles and short steep uphill back onto the Hoe. The crowds were brilliant across the course, in particular coming up to the finish, I even got a few ‘go Lymington’ cheers along the way.
I finished in a time of 1 hr 55 mins 02 seconds, I was aiming for 1.55 so pretty happy with that, it also meant it was all over by 1030 leaving the rest of the day to play tourists on Dartmoor!
